"Well, Miss Tickle, because we are able to have a conversation with one another
through the 'Glow and Tell' windows fixed in our 'Talking Doors,' we know that
the old 'Tele-verse' device works just fine." Miss Tickle agrees, "Yes, it does."
"And, Miss Tickle, I hope that, when we speak together in the future, you will
not imagine that I am the door to your learning room." "Trust me Mr. Rayus,
I know that there is more to you than your glowing image in a 'Talking Door.'"
But then, Miss Tickle hears Elisha ask, "Miss Tickle, why didn't he use the way
Mr. One'stone talks with you?" "That is a good question Elisha," responds Miss
Tickle. "Yes, Mr. Rayus, what happened to the new communication system, ...,
ahhh, ..., I think its called the 'Pattern Maker,' ..., which shows all of you, from
head to toe, standing by my desk, just like you are here in the room?"
"Well, to be perfectly honest, Miss Tickle, the first time I used it, I called upon
Mrs. Witty. When my image showed in her room, Mrs. Witty told me that the
'Pattern Maker' had made my hair look like bright purple tree frogs hopping up,
and then, floating down, on my head; and my shoes had become large fish."
Hearing this description, all of the children in Miss Tickle's learning group begin
to wiggle and giggle as each is now imagining the new Principal with little purple
frogs hopping up and down on his head. And even Miss Tickle had to put her
